Length: 2 miles round trip
Elevation Change: 500 feet
Season:   Late winter thru late fall
Difficulty:   Moderate
Permit:   Pass Not Required
Features:
This is one of two hikes in the Cape Horn area. I have chosen represent this hike along a loop trail as a non-loop hike. I encourage you to think of this as a short viewpoint hike. The trailhead itself is in question as I write this review. They appear to be creating a new parking area just off SR14 on the Salmon Falls road. But until then, please park in the areas designated.

The trail is gentle as it winds through a dense forest of mostly alder. Within a mile the trail comes out on a steep cliff with magnificent views. There are actually two view areas within just a short distance of each other. Both over great views and you may find that an afternoon arrival is best, so that the sun is the the west of you.

There are a surprising amount of wildflowers to enjoy on this short little hike. So, not only is the view grand, but the floral displays along the way and at the view areas themselves are excellent.

Use Extreme Caution at the viewpoints, which sit atop dangerous cliffs.
